That last is no more than a foot high, and about seven paces across, a mere flat top of a grey rock which smokes like a hot cinder after a shower, and where no man would care to venture a naked sole before sunset. On the Little Isabel an old ragged palm, with a thick bulging trunk rough with spines, a very witch amongst palm trees, rustles a dismal bunch of dead leaves above the coarse sand.

The Road Not Taken

Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both (_/)
And be one traveler, long I stood (='.'=)
And looked down one as far as I could (")_(")
  To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim, |_/|
Because it was grassy and wanted wear; / @ @
  Though as for that the passing there ( > º < )
Had worn them really about the same, `>>x<<´
                                               / O
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
  Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

About this section

Antonio and Adam invite you to stay at 2 Highview Boulevard in the Brookhaven Hamlet, a few blocks East of Bellport and “South of the Highway”. In the fall of 2020, we renovated our home, inspired by a Serena and Lily and a few trips to Tulum

The space

The 3 bedroom home has a bright and simple design for relaxation on Long Island. The open living room and kitchen invite you to plop down and relax. Muted and natural tones and heavy blankets will make napping necessary. The living room is anchored by a significant quadtych by Gustavo Bonevardi – look closely as the Aspen trees are made up of individual letters. The living room is furnished by vintage cane furniture, Crate and Barrel, and a Samsung Frame TV. The dinning room furniture is heirloom, A. Sibau table and chairs, that moved with Antonios uncle from NYC to South Beach to Puerto Rico and imported back for this home. On the main floor there are 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom enjoys tremendous light though large sliding glass doors that overlook the pool. The master bathroom is a point of pride to us, a large shower, custom made Corian vanity, and Kohler Purist fixtures give the bathroom a luxurious feel – we skipped on the subway tile for this home. The second bedroom has a beautiful cane queen bed from Anthropologie and the smaller bedroom has a comfortable day bed that sleeps one. The second bathroom has a modern spa feel finished with Kohler Purist brass fixtures. The basement has a game room atmosphere, a table for playing cards, a pool table, large screen TV for movie nights, and a fold out sofa, comfortably sleeping a few unexpected guests. In the Spring of 2021 a new heated gunite pool was installed, the pool is surrounded by Jordan Brown furniture. Privacy trees are planted around the perimeter of the property, however these trees are a little young this summer. Cook dinner over a pellet grill and enjoy time around the vintage Russell Woodard table and chairs A block away is a nice nature walk on the CEED property (Fire Place Historic District), across the street the farm sells fresh eggs (take the kids to see the chickens), just to the East (an easy walk) is a proper farm stand. There are 4 Linus Dutchie bikes for the 5 minute ride into Bellport. A nice ride is to Mothers Beach at the end of South Howels Point Road, don’t miss the amazing trees on Livingston Street. A morning trip to get coffee at Bellport General and a little shopping is a standard weekend morning for us. At night we often bike in to dinner at the Bellport (low key ‘fancy’) or Porters (try the lobster roll) – and we always get ice cream at Carla Marla’s. There are also 3 stand-up paddle boards, take them to the beach at the end of our street. Once on the water there is a nice river to explore just to the East. The intrepid paddlers may want to paddle into the Bellport marine (just arrange to have someone pick you up!). Electronic key entry via Ring. Parking for multiple cars is easy in the semi-circle driveway. In the garage there are a few surprises, 4 Linus Dutchie bikes, and 3 stand-up paddle boards. The stand up paddle boards can be launched from the private beach at the end of Bellhaven Road. Explore the inland waterways or take on a real adventure and paddle to the Bellport Marina. The home is a comfortable bike ride to downtown Bellport. Short term renters do not have access to the town ferry, you will need a friend in town to help you get passes. A fun day trip is to take the ferry from Sayville and go to the Pines or Cherry Grove. The pool is heated with gas, it is newly installed in the spring of 2021. The fire place in the living room is gas. We are dog friendly, dogs tend to get muddy around here – if you would like to bring your dog, let’s talk about it. Please cover furniture with blankets if yours is a muddy – shed – monster.
